 A Romano-Celtic chariot linchpin from 1st century A.D. This linchpin, that secures the wheel to the axle, is made of cupro-alloy, is 36mm long with a squared shank that has a hole through the bottom and has a 13mm diameter head with two circular recesses that would originally have contained coloured enamel (none remains). Found in Cambridgeshire.
Condition: very good, complete except for enamel, with a nice green patina.
